In its native dimension, Greatfruit Grove was tended to by a troop of 'adorable little genius monkeys' who lived in the main tree, which they called the Monkey Mansion. These monkeys were responsible for the splicing that gave rise to so many fruit varieties, and the Golden Simian depicted on this fountain decoration was one such monkey.
